Somerville Open Studios, May 6-7
Somerville Open Studios returns for its 24th year on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7, from 12-6 p.m. throughout the city. This year’s theme is “Bounce” to commemorate the return of the event in full form after the pandemic. More than 350 visual artists in 90 locations invite the community into their spaces during one of the largest free open studios events in the nation. The public is invited to “bounce around the block” on foot or by free trolley rides, visiting unique homes and collective studios of Somerville’s creative community.

Organized entirely by volunteers, this citywide event showcases both established and emerging artists working across a broad range of fine art and craft—painting, sculpture, photography, fiber, jewelry, clay, glass, fashion, furniture, installation art and more.

Visitors are encouraged to start their Somerville Open Studios experience at the First Look group show at the Somerville Museum at 1 Westwood Road, Pre- and post-SOS hours: Thursdays 2-7 p.m., Fridays 2-5 p.m., Saturdays noon-5 p.m. SOS weekend hours: Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Maps are available at the museum and at artist-made yellow hand map stands across the city.

For more event information visit the SOS website.
